The Legacy Lab Conversation
LegacyLab is typically delivered in a series of offsite sessions that begins with an overnight retreat for couples. The remaining modules can be tailored to your unique context and schedule, and often, culminates in a family giving summit.
At each step, the experience is designed to provide a purposeful pause from busy schedules in order to provide space for both spouses to feel seen and heard.

Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the cost?
LegacyLab is a service provided by National Christian Foundation. We invite participants to make a ministry grant to support our ongoing work with generous families. Participants are responsible for all travel and lodging expenses.
What’s the time commitment?
The initial LegacyLab session is a 2-day retreat. Subsequent sessions can be scheduled based on the couple’s availability and preferences. For the full LegacyLab experience, the cumulative time commitment is 6-10 days over the course of several months.
Where will our LegacyLab sessions take place?
We offer locations in Napa, Santa Barbara, Orange County, and Coachella Valley. Our facilitators are happy to travel to other locations (travel and lodging expenses would be included in session expenses).
What if I’m single?
LegacyLab is a highly customizable experience and we’re happy to adapt it for a single head of household.
What if we don’t have kids?
Legacy planning is unique to your family composition and may include other heirs, successors, or charitable partners.
Is LegacyLab a type of counseling?
Our facilitators are not trained counselors, and they will not provide advice or direction; rather, they are there to guide you through a series of curated questions and to be a listening conversation partner.
Meet Your Legacy Lab Facilitators
Ken Weigel
Ken is an advisor and strategist for high-net-worth families and the creator of the LegacyLab experience. With a decades-long background in facilitation, he serves as a trusted guide for leaders, boards, foundations, and nonprofits in the Pacific Northwest. Drawing from his experience in pastoral leadership, strategic communication, and executive advising, Ken specializes in helping people move beyond surface-level discussions to uncover what truly matters and build a shared path forward. Over the past decade, he has developed FocusLabs and LegacyLabs and taken over 120 couples through the program. He and his wife Linsea and their kids live in Portland, Oregon.
Ian Noyes
Ian serves as a philanthropic consultant with National Christian Foundation of California where he helps high-capacity families and private foundations build and implement effective giving strategies. He brings over two decades of experience in pastoral and ministry leadership to his work with generous families. He is also the Director of NCF California’s work along the Central Coast and in the Bay Area. Ian is committed to the ongoing journey of discipleship and loves working with families who are growing in generosity and boldly pursuing an adventurous life with God. He and his wife Mindy live in Santa Barbara, California, a place that their college and young adult children also call home from time to time.
Ryan Zeulner
Ryan is a philanthropic advisor and missions pastor. He has spent the majority of his career helping people discover and give to Kingdom causes all over the world. A graduate of Biola University with a degree in Christian Education, Ryan has held several pastoral roles, developed and launched multiple ministries and nonprofits, and led missions teams and vision trips. He is passionate about working with families to develop giving strategies that build a family culture of generosity. He is a Generous Giving partner and facilitator. He and his wife Jenn and their kids live in Southern California.
